I was an extremely quiet kid. Growing up with a stutter made me afraid to speak, so for years, I stayed silent.
But singing became my escape. It was the one place where I felt free, where I could express everything I struggled to say out loud.
Still, I kept that passion to myself. I didn’t share my music with anyone until my early 20s. I was afraid: afraid to make mistakes, to not be good enough, and to be vulnerable in front of others.
But starting my music journey just a few years ago has been the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. It opened doors I never imagined: connecting with a vibrant Toronto music community, performing for hundreds of people, and discovering a love for vocal teaching. Since then, I’ve taught over 70 students, each one on their own unique path toward self-expression and self-confidence.
For the first time, I was singing (and speaking!) with more confidence and self-assurance. By finally showing up as my true self, I began to uncover my real voice: deeper, fuller, and more grounded than I ever knew it could be.
And in early 2025, I made the biggest leap of all: I left my corporate job of 3+ years to pursue music and vocal teaching full-time. It was terrifying, and absolutely worth it.
